I finished my reading goal 7 months too early. 100 books in 5 months. I’m considering maybe updating my goal into 200 books, but my schedule for the upcoming semester is too hectic. Maybe I’ll go with 150 books?

That means I’m 7 books away from getting halfway through my 100 Books Year. If you’re wondering why I’m doing this, it’s because of two things. First, I am frustrated because I keep slacking on reading comic books. I see or hear a title and I want to read it, but I never get around to it because the internet takes up a lot of my time. If there is something that will take my time away from studies, it’s going to be reading, not the internet. Second, it’s because it’s the Year of the Dragon. I’m 24, imaginary readers! Hell if I’m going to be 25 without checking off something, anything in my bucket list.

If I finish 100 books by June, I might aim for another 100 books by the end of the year. Fingers crossed!

To buy/read only fantasy/sci-fi books written by female writers for 2013, except for those by male writers I’ve read before.

That means, I’ll read only books by Octavia Butler, N.K. Jemisin, Libba Bray, Tamora Pierce, Kameron Hurley, etc.

Exceptions:

1. Charles Stross’ Accelerando. My interest has been building for two years, and it would really frustrate if I don’t get my hands on this.

2. Isaac Asimov’s I, Robot. Won’t you let a sci-fi heathen evolve?

3. Adam Roberts’ Yellow Blue Tibia. Same as #1.

Goals: (Specific books I’ve set out to read, and then we’ll see what happens.)
